If you had to encapsulate bicycling in one word, what would it be?
Liberating.

What do you love most about riding to work?
I love knowing that no matter how hard my day was at work, it will always end with a bike ride, one of my favorite things to do. I love knowing that no matter the weather or time of year, my trusty Surly will deliver my sorry old butt to wherever I need to be. And of course, I get to ride my bike EVERY DAY for 1.5 to 2 hours! How cool is that?

Any words of advice for new riders?
Don’t worry about the “right gear” or what the weather is doing. Just get whatever bike you have and start riding. You will realize that the weather is never as bad as you thought and that any old bike can be a source of exercise, good health and just plain pleasure in your hectic life. Just DO IT!
